[ENG SUB + Translation] Hou Minghao's farewell message to Zhao Yuanzhou, 16 Nov 2024
"There's always a breeze or two in the mortal world that can send me on beautiful dreams for 18,000 miles."
This trip in the mortal world is a journey that I, Zhao Yuanzhou, had to make.
A one-word spell: Dream. Now, let me tell you a story...
In the Great Wilderness, everyone knows me, and everyone sees me as the Great Demon that has committed every evil deed, deserving of death. But I made the unexpected choice to enter the fray with sworn enemies, old friends, and new acquaintances, embarking on a new path investigating cases and hunting demons together. To voluntarily sign a contract that decided my death date... most people would think that is an ill-omened beginning. But to me it was a relief, to finally be free of the prison that was of my own making...
Fate bound our demon hunting team together, and as we solved cases together, we got to know each other's true hearts. Some amongst us conquered might with gentleness, some amongst us were full of righteousness, some soft-hearted despite our tough exterior, some are lively troublemakers, some holding on to a true heart. Such a motley crew coming together and the only thing they seemed to be able to agree on was: that I wasn't to be trusted. They know me as Zhao Yuanzhou, but they can't forget all the evil I did as a Great Demon. But it didn't matter since I didn't hold much hope for myself as well, so all these other emotions didn't mean anything to me.
If you asked why I came here, I would tell you it's because I am the Great Demon Zhu Yan, forced to bear the burden of being born as a "vessel". I lost control and made an unredeemable mistake, and only death can eliminate the pain in my heart. Living is torture; Death is the gift of relief. However, I also wanted to give myself a chance at redemption, a boat rowing against the current.
Along the way, the demon hunting team encountered many complicated cases, but we worked hand in hand to solve them and the blades that we had pointed towards each other were turned towards the outside. Sworn enemies became comrades in arms, and as we took one step closer to saving the world, we also uncovered wounds that had already scarred over. As we saw each other's past wounds more clearly, we saw the past laughter that was used to hide the pain. Those who had a responsibility to protect found themselves unable to, those bearing the burdens of upholding the family's honour were just trapped in a dream, and those should have grown up with no worries found their world turned upside down overnight...
If you have a nightmare, someone might comfort you by saying don't worry, everything that happens in a dream is inverted. But what if it's a beautiful dream? Everything I'd experienced felt so real to me. As I journeyed on, I began to get lost in the dream. I started to wonder, what was I going to do if I was the one who lost everyone else in the end? I have to confess, I began to feel reluctant to part with everyone...
The lonely boat travels across the bitter seas, but friendship caused waves to rise in a heart that had died. Along the way, we mended each other bit by bit. What I have experienced is too beautiful for the other "me" to ever understand. The wish to enjoy the passing seasons and happiness of an ordinary life held great hidden strength, so that even though I already knew the ending, I did not give up the struggle. Because of all of you, I was driven not just by my thoughts of despair, but by my desire to protect all of you.
Be it the Great Wilderness or the mortal realm, everything must return to its original path. If you grieve over the fact that Zhu Yan did not get a chance to choose, then I will tell you that it was only a dream. If you are looking forward to embarking on a new journey with Zhao Yuanzhou's companions, then you have to wake up to hear the rest of the story. By the way, don't forget what I said – in the future, when it rains, that means I've come to accompany you. Turn the boat around and think of it as a big dream. On the other shore, someone is searching for me. A one-word spell: Wake.
The days I spent with Zhu Yan/Zhao Yuanzhou, confining myself to my shell and experiencing a life seeking an inevitable end, but I also felt the redemption in the countdown. For an actor, this was a very special creative process. The director's help, encouragement, and trust played a huge role in letting me experience this unique and meaningful role of Zhao Yuanzhou. He gave me a lot of room to interpret the one and only Zhao Yuanzhou, and with this support, I was able to accompany Zhao Yuanzhou through this journey, and finally entrust him to you, the audience, with peace of mind.
Also unforgettable were our companions who were with us every step of the way, and the process of everyone coming together in the creative process is very enjoyable, very satisfying, very worthwhile, and I will remember those scenes vividly. I will miss the Great Wilderness, the Demon Hunting Bureau, and the Kunlun Mountains... places where we left our joys and sorrows. Thanks to Wen Xiao, Xiao Zhuo-daren, Pei Sijing, Xiao Jiu, Ying Lei – because of our little demon hunting squad, Zhao Yuanzhou left knowing he was loved. Thank you to my ride-or-die Li Lun, we didn't forget our oath to protect the Great Wilderness. Thank you to my dear friend Zhao Wan'er, and Grandpa Yingzhao, who gave Yuanzhou the rare warmth of familial affection! Last but not least, I would like to thank all the crew behind the scenes for their hard work over the past few months. I have woken up from the dream, but my heart will always remember.
Signed, Zhu Yan/Zhao Yuanzhou, with remorse but no regrets

-maybe we will meet again-
summary: you and the leclerc brother meet in your hometown, spain...
PAIRINGS: charles leclerc x fem!reader
WARNINGS: none
note: pleaseeee send in requests, i don't know what to write anymore...
masterlist
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The bustling streets of Spain’s vibrant city life hummed with energy as the warm sun bathed the cobblestone pathways. Amidst the sea of tourists and locals, a chance encounter unfolded, changing the course of two lives.
You found yourself happily strolling along the picturesque streets of your hometown, reveling in the familiar sights and sounds that had always brought you comfort.
It was there, amidst the winding alleys of Spain, that you first laid eyes on him – Charles Leclerc, the Formula 1 racing sensation, accompanied by his brothers Arthur and Lorenzo.
You couldn’t help but be drawn to their infectious laughter and easygoing demeanor as they soaked in the beauty of your city. It was like it was second nature to them.
A chance encounter led to a conversation, and soon, you found yourself engrossed in tales of their travels and adventures. And you happily listened to their stories.
Days turned into nights, and before you knew it, you were spending every waking moment in their company. Whether it was exploring hidden gems of the city or indulging in local delicacies, each moment felt like a dream.
Among the Leclerc brothers, it was Charles who captivated you the most. His warm smile and genuine curiosity made it easy to lose track of time whenever you were together.
As the days passed, a bond formed between the two of you, forged through shared laughter and heartfelt conversations. It was more than friends, but less than a serious relationship.
As the inevitable day of departure approached, a sense of melancholy settled over you. The thought of saying goodbye to Charles and his brothers filled you with a profound sense of longing.
It was then that you knew you had to seize the moment and express what had been weighing on your heart. If not yet, then when? They would go soon and the question if you would see them again, was unanswered.
Gathering your courage, you penned a letter, pouring your feelings onto the pages with unwavering honesty. It came flooding out of you, onto the pages, like nothing you had ever experienced.
You poured out your admiration for Charles, confessing how his presence had brightened your days and how you cherished the memories you had shared together.
On the morning of their departure, you sought out Charles amidst the bustling streets, heart pounding with nervous anticipation. With trembling hands, you handed him the letter, your eyes meeting his with a mixture of hope and apprehension.
Charles’ expression softened as he read the words you had written, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. At that moment, time seemed to stand still as the weight of your confession hung in the air between you.
Without a word, Charles pulled you into a warm and loving embrace, his arms wrapping around you with a tenderness that spoke volumes. He had always felt the same as you.
In that simple gesture, you found solace, knowing that no matter where life took you, the memories you had shared would forever be etched in your heart and his.
As the Leclerc brothers bid farewell, to the airport, and disappeared into the bustling crowd, you couldn’t help but feel a sense of bittersweet joy wash over you.
Though their time in Spain had sadly come to an end, the connection you had forged with Charles would endure, a testament to the serendipitous magic of fate.

It's the 20th of November, which means that today we're going to say farewell to the birthday letters for this year. It has been a pleasure managing to cover another K-pop group and I hope I'll manage to redo this tradition next year with a new group, new collages and new heartfelt letteers!
That's enough of the sad part, let's celebrate our little crocodile over there!
Happy Birthday Mujin! 🥳
As always, have the pleasure to look at the collage I made for him 🥺
Guess what? Instead of adding another member, I wanted to add his cat. I'm a genius, I must admit.
I confess that I always wanted to include idols' pets in the collages, but not every idol has a pet, and adding them would have made the collages a little…inconsistent, I think?
Maybe in future collages, I will add more pets, who knows.
And now, have the pleasure to read the last letter for this year.
Talking about Mujin is...complicated. The main reason is that if it wasn't for Ivan (especially Ivan) and Dann, Mujin would have been my bias. Don't worry, he still managed to enter into my list. He's one of my wreckers...which makes my life as a kingmaker pure hell bliss. I wanted to make this intro to highlight how Mujin had every requirement to get into my bias list. Heck, I think I would have made a lot of jokes about him being a sort of little brother because I'm older than him by only eight months. Eight months! Isn't it funny?
Anyway, you might wonder what requirements he had apart for the eight months thing. Well, let's start with the most "professional" ones.
First and foremost, his character and his own album on HOK. I think I'm becoming repetitive recently with HOK but when I say that Mujin's album is one of my favourites from HOK, I truly mean it. I'll keep repeating it over and over, but this album is in my top 3 and I don't think I'll ever get over this. And his album is also the first one where I experienced, during comeback season, keep in mind this, his writing skills. I confess that I didn't check the other albums' credits and see if he wrote other songs before My Wave, but if I tell you that My Wave is one of my favourite b-sides, I truly mean it. This boy has a huge writing talent and it deserves to shine more.
His character in Kingdom's story and lore is also one of my favourite ones. I think I'm starting to have a thing for tragic characters for real, especially if those ones were beloved heroes at first. As time as I write this letter, it seems that his character is turning to the dark side, although I prefer waiting for the next comeback to see if I'm right or not. And if he manages to become a dark side character...uhm, I don't know, I just hope he'll be fascinating.
And his voice? Heck, the people who listened to his covers will probably agree with me that he has a beautiful voice whether he's singing or rapping.
Of course, all these talents are also compensated by his duality. This talented boy is the same one who ends up making the cutest and the loudest noises ever. His dolphin scream has become one his most iconic sounds along with his laugh! They make him immediately recognisable.
And what about some of his hobbies? Some of you are probably thinking about some of his vlogs where he shared a huge interest in clothing. His latest birthday vlog is literally a behind scene of a photobook! But I was also thinking about his knitting. Even tho it's not shown that much nowadays in the videos, I always found his knitting hobby very fascinating. You don't always find your typical idol finding some time for knitting. And if the idol whose knitting is Mujin then the simple action of knitting becomes cute too.
And the last important thing that makes Mujin very dear and important to me is...his cat. I'm sorry, I'm a cat person and his cat is literally a fluffy white cloud that deserves all the love and cuddles from Mujin. I want more pics of that cat...or videos of Mujin cuddling his cat. Or both. Or anything with his cat in it. Just his cat. I love that cat.
Dear Mujin, your letter will close this year's tradition and even though I don't know if I'll manage to do it again, I want to say that I'm glad your letter will be the last entry. Your talents and your cute and fun personality deserved to be highlighted and shown. During the years, you managed to give us a lot of precious moments that Kingmakers will keep with them forever. Please, be always healthy, don't get hurt and keep chasing your dreams.
My birthday wish for you is that you'll manage to get a modelling contract. That's incredible, uh? But honestly, after seeing how much you're passionate about modeling and how, in recent vlogs, you were trying to fix your styling choice, I think becoming a model would fit you a lot. I can't wait to see you as a brand ambassador, it doesn't matter if the brand is little or not.
Happy birthday, my buffed alligator 🐊

Amidst the towering shelves of The Hourglass, a sanctuary of books taken over by Alexander ever since the demise of the former owner, Semex Drogon, Thor stood lost in a realm of thought. His eyes wandered over the dusty tomes, searching for the words that eluded him. Alex, approached him with a mixture of curiosity and concern etched upon his face.
"Thor, my friend, what weighs upon your heart? I can see the shadows of sorrow playing across your countenance."
Thor shifted his gaze to meet Alex's eyes, a hint of sadness lingering in his own.
"Aye, there's a request Ah must make o' ye. A've always been rubbish wit' words, an' now Ah must write a letter ta bid farewell."
Alex's eyes softened, recognizing the weight of Thor's emotions.
"In this haven of tales, we shall find solace through the written word. Tell me, who is the recipient of this letter, the one to whom you bid adieu?"
"Viper, a soul intertwined wit' mah own. A've caused him pain, an' now Ah must find a way ta set him free. Tha words evade me, refusin' ta be captured, an'd Ah'm left wit' a heavy heart."
Offering a gentle smile Alex could tell how difficult it was for the brooding pirate to ask for help and he was nothing if not considerate of that in proceeding. "Within the realm of ink and parchment, we shall craft a farewell imbued with profound emotion. Find respite here, dear Thor, and let us shape the words that will grant solace and release."
Thor exhaled a somber breath, following Alex's lead as they sought a table in a quiet corner of The Hourglass. Together, they delved into the depths of Thor's sorrow, selecting phrases that bore the weight of his goodbye and the essence of his lingering longing.
"Lad, your way wit' words is a balm ta mah troubled soul. Ye've taken tha fragments o' mah thoughts an' woven them inta somethin' achingly beautiful. Ah cannot express mah gratitude enough."
Alex smiled brightly, adjusting his glasses, "And you say you lack a way with words! Pfft. There is no need for gratitude, dear Thor. It is an honor to aid you in this. I owe you anyway, after you and your organization helped me obtain this shop. It's everything I'd ever hoped for."
"T'was no trouble at all, lad."
Alex stood, taking the letter with him and returned behind the counter where he signed, folded, and wax sealed it. It was passed over to Thor as he made way to the exit. "Safe travels, my friend."
With a mixture of sadness and newfound clarity, Thor expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Alex for their invaluable assistance. Leaving The Hourglass, he carried the weight of his words, prepared to bid farewell to Viper with a letter that would release them both from the chains of their shared past. As he walked away, Alex watched, a tender smile gracing his lips, knowing that he had played a part in the bittersweet tale of letting go and finding healing in the power of words.

Warnings: eventual dark elements (tags to be added as fic continues)
This is dark!(king)Steve and explicit. 18+ only.
Summary: King Steven had a wandering eye but you never thought it would fall upon you.
This Chapter: The reader speaks up.
Note: Here’s part 3. I’m still going while I can. Fair warning that I work every day given the holiday season and so I’ll do my best to keep up but so far I’m having fun and you all are too. I really hope you enjoy. 💋
<3 Let me know what you think with a like or reblog or reply! Love ya!
It was a week before your father returned. A gruelling week.
You weren’t surprised to hear of his arrival from another. Nor disappointed that he didn’t call for you immediately. That was your father’s way. He doted on Alice and shunned you. She brought him esteem with her marriage to a duke and you brought him disgrace with your failure to garner even a betrothal. The convent lurked on your horizon.
When he did send for you, the dread sank deep in your chest. The thought of your inevitable meeting hung over you all day and to face him was an obstacle in itself. Even as a small girl, you’d managed to stoke his ire. You were too quiet, and when you were not quiet enough, you were flowery and irritating. Not like Alice; refined and endearing.
Your father’s servant led you to his chambers. As a lower lord, he had no receiving chamber, merely a screen between his bed and his desk. You entered with your head dipped. A quill scratched noisily on parchment as the servant informed your father of your presence and retired to his vigil beside the door.
Your father didn’t look up. A candle sat on his desk as he wrote and the lanterns did little to add to the hazy glow of the amber fire. His grey hair was combed back as it always was; thick despite his age. His lips moved along with the words he spilled from his nib.
“Father,” You greeted. He didn’t even nod. You waited, hands clasped before you. “Is Alice well?”
He lifted his quill and dabbed dry its end. He sat back and looked at you with a tilt of his head. He placed the pen on his desk and sighed. “Daughter.” His eyes were dull, unimpressed. Disinterested even though it was he who prompted the visit. “Yes, she is well. As is the child. A grandson.”
“And mother? She has remained with Alice?” You asked. You were hopeful she would’ve returned to court and offered you an ounce of companionship.
“For the time being. Until they are ready to return to court. Though the duke should return within the month.”
Your father spoke grimly. His tone rarely wavered; rarely rose above a monotone. Only with the king or some higher lord did he show a trace of humanness.
“So all is in order.”
“Is it?” Your father wondered as he leaned on the arm of his chair.
You blanched. You hoped it was. The king had not bothered you since that night after the banquet, the queen remained ever gracious, though Rose was as thorny as the flower. But all seemed to be as it was and just in time for your father’s return. You’d thought your prayers answered; the rumours swept away before he could hear of them.
“Of course, father.” You assured him. You felt so small before him.
“Mmm,” He considered you. His lips curled in a sinister smirk. “You danced with the king?”
“At his request,” You replied. “But you know I haven’t a quick step, father.”
“You needn’t remind me of your shortcomings, daughter,” He quipped. “But it surely must have been adequate for as I hear it, he called for you the next night.”
“An invitation which I refused.” You said plainly. “As a proper lady would.”
“A foolish lady.” He gripped the arm of the chair as his lips turned downward. “So it is true?”
“Would you rather I accept and tarnish my reputation? Our family’s name?”
“I’d rather you seek the rare favour you can find in this world.” He spat. “You are as daft a woman as you were a child.”
“Forgive me, father, but I only did as I thought you’d wish me to.” You pleaded. “You wouldn’t want me to resign myself to a life as the wife of a second son.”
“As it is, I’d prefer you the wife of any.” He huffed. “And if you cannot achieve that, a king’s mistress is a fine consolation.”
You frowned. How could he not be proud of your resolve? Of your restraint? He always lectured you on propriety and now he sneered at it.
“I would rather the convent.” You hissed.
“You must realize, girl, that this is not about your whims, but the king’s. Should he will you on your back, you will lay before him as he pleases.” He snarled. “So if he should come to you again, you will not deny him.”
“He has not in the week since.” You assured him.
“And I doubt he will now.” Your father grumbled. “As always, you’ve ruined it all.”
“I’ve only done as you taught me to.”
“Enough of your insolence.”
“My insolence? I will not be used by the king--”
“This is not about the king. It is about me, your father, and your family.” He stood and planted his hands on his desk. “You could do more as the king’s whore than the wife of some lowly baron of the marshes. If you were not so heedless, you might even raise our name. The Marquess of Lofton was but an earl before the king thought to take his daughter to bed.”
“I will not trade my virtue for your advancement.” You gritted.
“For what other purpose is a daughter good for?” He hurled viciously. “You shall lift your skirts for my fortune one way or the other. Better it be a king, than a pauper.”
“I will not.”
“You will,” He pushed himself straight and stormed around the desk. He rushed towards you and glared down as he slid to a stop. “If the king has not already found another fancy, you will do as he wishes. Should he return to you, you will welcome him fondly.”
“No.” You growled as you set your shoulders. “I will not.”
“You will,” He struck you so hard you stumbled back. You touched your cheek softly as it burned. “Because you are my daughter. My property.”
You held your tongue. You gulped as you dropped your hand and stood straight. You blinked.
“Father.” You said evenly.
“Understood?” He sneered.
“I understand you.” You twined your fingers together tightly. You might understand his wishes but you would not obey him. Let him rage and send you off to the nunnery when he realized.
“Good. Now be off. I’ve more important business than my impetuous daughter.” He turned back and rounded his desk. “I swear, you’ve always been intent on ruining me.”
You muttered a farewell as he sat. As you turned, the servant avoided your gaze and you swept past him through the door. In the hall, the air was cool against your hot cheek. You took a deep breath to steady yourself. You hoped it was already too late and your spurning of your father’s ambitions was already complete.
👑
When you returned to your chamber, the other ladies were on their beds. They read or sewed, and were oddly quiet. You didn’t realize at first why. You were drained from your meeting with your father and just wanted to forget about it. Foremost, you wanted to forget about court and its spectacles.
Then you saw it. The small box on your pillow. It sat on a folded note and you held your breath. In dread, anxiety, and fear. You looked around the shared room. You caught Sybil watching you as Joan and Marion tried to hide their eyes behind their books. You lowered your chin and sighed quietly.
You neared the top of the bed and reached for the box. You unfolded the note with nervous fingers and the scrawl within seemed to move around. You could barely focus as you thought of your father and his anger. At last, the letters stood still and you read with bated breath.
My lady,
I have counted the ways I might apologize. For my assumptions, my insinuations, and gross misstep. My intent was never to demean, never to offend, and so I cower in my remorse. In my regret for how crudely I treated you.
I am of loose impulse. I act often without truly thinking. I let myself be led by my emotions and my thought is left to wither. As I did with you. I was selfish. I did not foresee the implication of my invitation. I did not think of you or your status. For that I apologize, deeply.
But I cannot apologize for how I feel. For the sudden and fervent desire that has arose in me. The want to know you, to know more of you, to know everything of you. I will not apologize for that would stain you; your beauty, your wit, your very person.
I should like to atone for my indiscretion. To bring you pleasure rather than displeasure. So I include, with this most heartfelt and since apology, a gift and I beg your forgiveness. I beg of you mercy. I beg of you only...you.
Your king.
You slowly lowered the parchment and looked to the box. You bit your lip and glanced around at the girls. They weren’t being so subtle anymore. You folded the paper up and set it with the box as you went to your chest. You pulled out your own square of paper and went to the desk you shared with the others.
You sharpened a nib and took a pen. You dipped it in the ink and a shadow passed over you as Sybil neared.
“What are you doing? Aren’t you going to open the gift?” She asked.
“No, I mean to return it.” You began to write your message. Concise enough you hopped your point was taken.
Your Highness,
While I appreciate your apology, it is entirely unnecessary. I’ve already accepted your amends and as I stated, bear to you no animosity. While a gift is most flattering, it is improper and undue. I am thence, with the utmost respect, required to return to you your kindness though your forethought is recognized.
Your loyal subject.
You folded up the small slip and stood. Sybil was aghast and Joan watched with a smug smirk.
“As you should return it,” Joan sang, “We all know it is an empty gesture. A scheme to irk Rose. The king is loathe of her triteness though he loves her wholly. You...well, he only wants a puppet.”
“Oh, Joan, what do you know?” Marion chirped. “You’re only jealous that you’re neither of them and you’ll be left to marry that chubby Earl from Priskam.”
“I have seen the letters the king writes to Rose, I have seen the love in his eyes,” Joan insisted. “And I have seen this little mouse in her hole and she is pathetic.”
“Then you should know what lies within this letter,” You said as you went to your bed to fetch the box and the king’s letter. “And know that they are the same words he has written to a dozen women before myself. Before Rose.”
“Rose was right. You are despicable.”
“I am honest. And I see this place for what it is.” You pressed your letter to the box as you turned to the door. “I know that words are never meant as they are said. There is an edge to each syllable.” You opened the door and looked back. “Sybil, may I request a favour? Or Marion?”
“You may,” Marion spoke first.
“I should not go unaccompanied to return this. I don’t think it would be decent. Will you walk with me?” You asked.
“I will,” Marion rose and closed her book. “I should like to stretch my legs before we retire for the night.”
“Thank you.”
“Not at all,” She nodded to the door. “Let us to our task before curfew should deem us unseemly.”
You gave a small smile and led her into the corridor. She pulled shut the door and turned to walk beside you. She was quiet at first; you were nervous as you fidgeted with the small box.
“Are you not at all curious?” She asked at last.
“Naturally,” You confirmed. “But I don’t dare to look lest I be tempted to keep it.”
“Ah,” She raised her pale brows. “You shouldn’t mind Joan, she’s jealous. And she’s far too enamoured with Rose.”
“I don’t mind her.” You said.
“Do you think the king will be upset?”
“Perhaps, but he has no reason to be. I suppose, however, that a man of his stature finds much to be displeased with and none to tell him he shouldn’t be.” You reflected. “I have made an enemy of Rose already, I do not need the queen a foe as well.”
“The queen knows the king strays.” Marion said.
“Her knowledge does not make it right. Her acceptance is not of her own will. What can she do?” You stopped as you reached the corridor along which the king resided. “As women, we are all given to circumstance we do not desire.”
Marion considered you. Her warm eyes bore into hers and she nodded. “There is much more going on in your head than I supposed.” She remarked. “Thoughts I’d never think to have myself.”
You looked at the box. Your father’s voice echoed in your head. If he was here, he’d slap you again. You raised your head and set your shoulders.
“Let this be the end of it.” You declared as you marched forward.
You’d never been down this way. Never thought you would. How did one knock on a king’s door. Well, was it necessary with the guards without? The men in mail watched your approach as Marion trailed behind. There helmets bobbed as they observed you with amused grins. How many women had they greeted in the evening hours?
“Sirs,” You nodded at one guard and then the other. “I would request the king, only if he should be available, of course.”
“The king?” The guard on the left looked over your shoulder at Marion. “You, her, or the both of you?”
“I come here on my own charge but she accompanies for decorum,” You explained. “If the king is engaged, I shall leave a letter for you to pass to him.”
“The king is alone. He may receive you,” The right guard assured you. “He’s not one to turn away a lady.”
“I would prefer he emerge,” You asserted. “It would be untoward to enter his chamber.”
“A receiving chamber is meant for that purpose, lady,” The guard returned.
“Even so, if he cannot be drawn from his privacy, I shall leave this with you.” You held up the box and letter folded atop its lid.
“Ah, don’t need to be so impatient.” The guard knocked on the door with his elbow. The sound barrelled down the hallway.
The door opened and the king’s footman, Hugh, scowled at the guard. His eyes blinked at the mailed men then turned on you. His forehead wrinkled in recognition and he spoke at last. “What is the bother?”
“This lady is here to see the king.”
“Very well, then send her in,” Hugh said sharply.
“She will not enter.” The left guard intoned.
“Says it’s indecent.” The other added.
Hugh sighed and looked to you again. He squinted and shook his head before disappearing within. You could hear his voice and then the king’s. Both were slightly muffled and followed by a stir. You waited and glanced over your shoulder at Marion. She looked as anxious as you felt.
Footsteps and then another shadow in the door. This one broader, taller. You bowed as the king appeared. His lips parted as he saw you and he let out a deep breath.
“My lady?” He greeted.
“Your highness,” You returned. Did your voice tremble? You could not tell. “My apologies for the disturbance but it was pertinent that I seek an audience.”
He nodded and stared at the box in your hands. “Did you like my gift?” He asked.
You swallowed. “I did not open the gift, though I did read your letter,” You felt it hard to breath. His eyes never left you. It was as if you were alone, as if there were no guards, as if Marion didn’t linger behind you. “I appreciate the gesture but I am unable to accept it.”
“My lady, do you reject my apology?”
“I...It is in my letter, your highness, but there is no apology required.” You held out the box and stepped tremulously toward him. “You must take it back.”
“I will not.” He insisted. “It is for you.”
“There is no reason for it and I cannot accept a present from a married man.” The box shook and you stilled your hands. “You may refuse to rescind it but I will not take it. I shall leave it upon the floor if I must.”
His blue eyes focused on you. They were stern but not angry. In them, a glimmer of confusion, a spark of provocation. He pressed his lips together before he spoke. “You refuse upon the grounds of my marriage?”
“I refuse on the grounds that it is improper.” You said. “On the grounds that I’ve accepted your apologies once and shall not do so again. On the grounds that I am a lady with a reputation to uphold should I have any hope of a betrothal.” Your voice had risen and you were embarrassed at the realization. “I wish that you take it back.”
“If you wish, I should happily appease you,” He stepped forward and reached out to take the box. His fingers grazed yours and his lips twitched. “For whatever you wish, I would give you, my lady. Whatever you will, you shall have. By my hand, by my order.”
His tone made you shiver. You rescinded your arm and clapped one hand over the other to uphold your composure. “Thank you, your highness.” You said. “It is late and I must return to my chamber.”
“So it is,” He accepted as he cradled the box in his hands. “And so you must.” He bowed his head and you curtsied to him. “Good night, my lady.”
“Good night, your highness.” You said as you began to back away.
The king watched, his gaze unwavering as you retreated. There was a promise in his eye, a nonchalance in the way he held the box, how he only looked away to open it and peek inside. He turned as he snapped it shut and his guards stared ahead stiffly. His broad back disappeared behind his door and Marion gasped as she finally let out her breath.
“My lord,” Marion swore. “I thought I would pass out.”
“Me, too.” You said as you grabbed your skirts. You spun around and didn’t dare look back. “Let us be away. Quickly.”

Why Farewell Wanderlust is my catharsis
Fuck. There is no song like Farewell Wanderlust. I tried multiple times to phrase my adoration for this song but I always found myself at a loss for words. Besides I was unsure whether I wanted to share the personal associations I have.
Nevertheless I want, no I have to try because this track helps me cope with the demons of the past. This post is somehow a huge step for me, so please bear with me 🙏 The song is perfection. It tears down all my walls, speaks directly to AND out of my soul.
It expresses what I need to hear.
<!–more–>
And it reaches the dark parts of myself. Plus it doesn't fit conventional (song) patterns. I could totally imagine Farewell Wanderlust in a musical. It's just so mesmerising and unique.
So last night I had a (mild) panic attack. This is not per se an unknown experience for me, it's just that I've learned to handle these breathing difficulties etc. better. As soon as I calmed down a bit I put Farewell Wanderlust on. I let it play at least 15 times in a row. At first my pain was almost unbearable. I cried. Like A LOT. I hugged myself and was totally helpless. Then something wonderful happened. While listening I got better and I sang along loudly. With each time my "screaming in tune" became louder and more feverish. Purifying👏
You know, approx. 15 years ago we had to move house. My father had to work in another town, therefore I had to visit a new school. From the beginning my fellow students avoided me. They talked behind my back, played evil "games" with me (e.g. pretending to like me and then embarrassing me in the meanest ways...).
Mostly they ignored me, like I wasn't there, like I was a nobody. I couldn't understand that at all. At my old school I had experienced the total opposite. I had had great friends, my other classmates had been so friendly. So, in this new situation I was overwhelmed. Like - what had I done to deserve this treatment?
I developped an anxiety disorder. I never felt worse in my whole life. And it was a long way back to a normal life. A normal "me". Finally life was good again, wonderful actually. ☺️ Unfortunately a few years later my first boyfriend cheated on me with his ex. And even before that he lied to me about other things (reasons why we couldn't meet...). I only later saw his true character. What an a... I'm so happy we only lasted a few months.
"I promise you I'll be better
I promise you I'll try
But like rubbin wine stains into rugs it's my curse
To try and make it right, but by trying make it worse" <- This! Holy shit, exactly this. In those times I felt like I was not good enough, as if I wasn't sufficient as a person. And this hurt so freakin much.
So again I had to climb out of a black hole. "All those letters unsent and that garden ungrown
I’m the captain of courage you’ve eternally lacked" - Oh, how I despised myself sometimes. Or to be specific: The part of myself which was afraid and weak. But I fought and fought these feelings and doubts and it worked. (Btw: The arrangement and the rythmn of the song are so DAMN)
I grew, became so much stronger. During college I finally learned how to stand up for myself. To not give a damn. To think "fuck you" to all those mean persons. "With hoik of her bra, she waved to the bar and she slipped into the night" -> Such a powerful line!
My friends and family also helped a lot. I got my college degree and now I have a good job and private life. And I'm happy.
"I promise you I’m not broken
I promise you there’s more
More to come, more to reach for, more to hurl at the door"
I realised exactly the above and let me tell you how liberating it was!
Still. This other part of myself isn't simply gone. That much I learned the hard way. I have to fight every day. But: I know the methods to achieve that. And I'm a precious person. *repeatstoherself*
Farewell Wanderlust describes and shows my journey. My inner struggles - and my strength. Such a gorgeous song. ❤️ "Goodbye to all my darkness, there’s nothing here but light
Adieu to all the faceless things that sleep with me at night" - Yes, yes, yes 🙂👊 Probably one of my favourite TAD lines (and I have so many!).
With this post (and my whole blog tbh) I want to say "thank you". Their music continues to enchant and comfort and inspire me in the best possible way. I LOVE how much warmness and beauty it evokes in myself.
This has without doubt been the most personal post I've ever written online (and such a long one 😅). For me it was the right place and time to do so. This fandom is something special. You are lovely people, dear hearts. 💗
I'm so glad we all enjoy the music by The Amazing Devil so much. That it brings us together. And I'm extremely grateful Joey and Madeleine bless us with their heartfelt songs.

BoJack finale, spoilers ahead.
I've written about BoJack few times on this account and so it only seemed fitting to talk about the final series. (Apologies if I ramble, it's late at night and I wanted to write while it was fresh) Firstly the way this season framed the finale was excellent and incredibly fitting for one of the biggest themes, BoJack holding himself accountable. As we watch the rest of the characters growing and evolving, and evidently leaving BoJack behind, we see BoJack's issues with accountability return. His life seems on a good path right up until the midway season break and as all hell breaks loose and his past actions come to haunt him, he is faced with very real repercussions.
I wrote a post about what I thought might be coming for BoJack in S6 (or at least I think I did but naturally the search option on this site is awful so I can't find it) In that post I talked about BoJack seeing repercussions for his actions and that's what we saw, BoJack is hated by most of society. He even looses Hollyhock or we can assume he does from his reaction to her letter. All of the people who were once around BoJack have learned that they have to take a step back from him for their own happiness and every single character experiences growth once they do this. Diane learns how to trust, Princess Caroline learns how to accept help and Todd learns responsibility.
BoJack however, remains stuck in his same patterns and these patterns eventually lead to what many assume to be his death (EP15) We witness a heartfelt rekindling (even if only imagined) between BoJack and Herb, even Sarah Lynn gets to say her peace before exiting in a fantastic psychedelic style performance. There is a touching moment with his father in which his father tells him everything I feel BoJack wished he could have heard from him. Everything seems to set us up for the final moments, the death of BoJack. And yet BoJack fights it, he pushes back against what happens. We see now quite obviously that he is unconscious in the pool. The genius of this moment that has been hinted to us since the start in the opening credits! It seems like this is easily BoJack's last moments, in a final conversation with Diane we witness what we assume to be his death.
After the credits theres a beeping of the hospital machine after the flat line and so we can assume he is not dead? Which launches us into the true final episode (EP16) Here we see a quickened sequence in which BoJack wakes up in a hospital bed, he's sentenced to time in prison for tresspassing on what was no longer his property and he goes on to serve time. Mr Peanutbutter picks him up and takes him to Princess Caroline's wedding, many many moments in this episode mirror what we see in the first season. Mr Peanutbutter's reassurance to BoJack that if he hates it at the wedding that will just go home, may feel familiar... that would be because its almost word for word what he says to Diane about going to BoJack's party in season one.
This happens similarly with other characters, in his moments with Todd on the beach there is a sense of familiar dialogue and Todd even wears what he wore last time BoJack saw him. He shares a dance with Princess Caroline where their conversation is again reminiscent of their conversations in the earlier series' with a beautiful moment of reconciliation and acceptance between them. Of course the grand finale with Diane mirrors beautifully their scene on the roof in season 1, similar dialogue about Diane trying to quit smoking (I believe this is what is said during one of their first conversations) The episode ends with a song, Mr Blue, very fitting for BoJack as a character and for what feels like a farewell between BoJack and Diane for good.
Now to get into theory, of course we can take everything that happens at face value but where would the fun be in that, an interesting quote that I loved is from Todd when he talks about the importance of art not being the meaning itself but what meaning others take from it! Personally in seeing the ending and the de ja vu feel that it had, my theory is that BoJack is in a coma. Many moments and conversations felt like relived memories, but some moments also felt real. I would say that the moments we witnessed are a mix of things that they might be saying to BoJack at his bedside, stories they're telling him about what has happened whilst he sleeps, and his own memories.
The moment with Diane felt very real and I would say that that was Diane's last goodbye to BoJack, her final speech before going back to Texas for good. Other moments (with Princess Caroline, Todd and Mr Peanutbutter) felt lighter, they weren't final moments and more just updates from those who will remain in his life. My guess would be that Mr Peanutbutter is now his main visitor/arranger of his care. A very natural role for him to have, Princess Caroline is likely visiting from time to time as is Todd. If this theory IS true it does leave room for some kind of revival in a way that would be unexpected. However I feel BoJack's story is over for now, and if it does end here it is a fitting place. I'm going to miss this show dearly so perhaps it's just wishful thinking but I'm so grateful to the creators of BoJack, they shined a light on so many real issues and created a honest gritty picture of what hollywood really is. Goodbye BoJack and all the other phenomenal characters! Its been an honour writing about you and I can't wait to see what the show's creators will do next.

These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things
The first time they met there, it was weird.
Harry entered Andromeda’s house with a little package in his hands and halted abruptly on the doorstep.
“Dromeda… why is Teddy’s hair so…” Harry struggled to find a word until nothing better than, “Malfoy-ish?” came to his mind.
His step-aunt snorted, shaking her head lightly. “Don’t you think he looks cute with this platinum blond?”
Harry regarded Teddy more closely. The kid was now looking expectantly at the package in Harry’s hands. He kinda did look pretty with blond hair, but that wasn’t the point. He opened his mouth to reply when none other than Draco Malfoy appeared on the stairway that led to the second floor of the house.
Harry’s hands tightened around the wrapping of Teddy’s present and his eyes snapped to Andromeda. She was apparently concentrated on knitting some sort of coloured scarf and wasn’t paying attention to the fact that a former Death Eater happened to be in her house.
Malfoy caught Harry’s eye and just stepped into the living room, silently approaching Teddy and sitting next to him. He made Teddy’s magical marbles dance around him, eliciting heartfelt laughter from him.
From Harry’s godson. Like Harry wasn’t even there. Like Harry wasn’t even a big deal.
No. Draco Malfoy couldn’t just ignore him.
“What are you doing here, exactly?” Harry tried to convey as much spite as he could, but Malfoy simply raised his head and grinned.
He fucking grinned.
“Playing with my cousin. Do you want to join us?”
Teddy turned his head to Harry too, and his hair became almost black as he stretched his hands towards him. “Up!”
Harry was staring in horror at this strange version of Draco Malfoy. He knew he had changed since the War, he’d seen him earlier that week at the restoration of Hogwarts and he’d received his letter of apology, but surely this was a step too far.
Trying to gather his control, Harry left the package on the floor, next to the marbles, and picked Teddy up, lifting him above his head and peppering his face with kisses.
With Teddy laughing in his arms, Harry kneeled next to Malfoy and tried to smile at him. If he could be civil, Harry certainly couldn’t be any less.
He thought again about Malfoy’s offer. Did he want to join them?
“Well… let’s see if Teddy likes what I bought him.” He unwrapped the package, revealing a big stuffed horse doll enchanted to gallop an overexcited Teddy around the house.
Harry let his eyes drift towards Malfoy, who was watching Teddy on his new toy, clapping his hands and laughing. Without taking his eyes off Teddy, Malfoy said, “He’s lucky to have you as a godfather, you know.”
Harry’s world must have turned upside down, because there was no way he’d heard that right. Ignoring the way his heart was vibrating in every fibre of his body, Harry scrambled for something to say, anything. He took a marble and fidgeted with it. “Erm, these are beautiful. Did you buy them?”
Malfoy nodded, offering him a soft smile again. Harry had no idea what to think — this version of Malfoy was making him nervous and he couldn’t guess how to deal with it. When Teddy came back to his marbles, they all played together and Harry was surprised to realise he was having a great time with Malfoy, who was surprisingly good with Teddy; gentle and patient.
Their time together flew by and soon it was evening. Andromeda tried to insist that Malfoy stay over for dinner, but he refused, saying he had to go back to his mother. Malfoy’s No left a bittersweet pang of disappointment in Harry’s chest, and a plea to remain almost escaped his lips.
He managed to hold it in and walked Malfoy to the door, gripping his hand quickly to bid him farewell and closing the door behind himself. When he turned towards Dromeda, she raised an eyebrow at him and a corner of her mouth lightly quirked up.
It was the closest thing to a smile Harry saw on her face since the War was over.
—–
The second time, Harry was less prepared than the first one, if that was even possible.
He was late, he always was. He entered Andromeda’s running, barely closing the door behind himself and sprinting towards Teddy’s room. He almost missed her “Hi, Harry!” in his haste to reach Teddy… and Malfoy. He needed to be certain he met the real Malfoy the last time and not just a faker but kinder… well, also, more handsome, version of him. The whole thing stank to Harry.
As soon as he reached the door to Teddy’s room, he slowed down. A soft whisper from inside the room made heat pool in Harry’s stomach…
When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I’m feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don’t feel so bad
Someone was singing… someone that definitely sounded like Malfoy and whose voice was so deep that Harry’s chest felt tight. Without thinking too much, he pushed the door slowly open to find Malfoy standing in the centre of the room. Teddy, with bright blond hair, tears in his eyes, but relaxed in Malfoy’s hug.
Harry’s breath faltered and goosebumps ran down his spine while Malfoy turned his head, nodding to Harry, still delicately singing…
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things
All Harry could do was stand there and smile, while Teddy’s hair slowly changed to his brand black. When standing there simply staring at Malfoy became too awkward, Harry approached them and gently kissed Teddy’s cheek.
“Hi,” Malfoy whispered. It was so new to hear him whisper, that Harry almost forgot who they were and where they came from. “He was crying, searching for his Mummy… but I think he’s calmer now.”
Harry felt something heavy drop in his stomach at those words, making his eyes sting and he threaded his fingers in Teddy’s hair. He replied whispering as Malfoy did. “You’re good with him, he looks so at peace… and — ” Harry chewed on his bottom lip. Was he really about to say it? “And your voice is soothing… it’s, um, sweet when you sing.”
They shared a look and Harry saw Malfoy’s cheeks gaining a deeper colour. Harry stared at him, thinking once again he had no idea who this guy standing in front of him was. Space and time seemed different when they were together at Dromeda’s with Teddy. And he let himself believe they really could be someone else, something different.
“Thanks, Harry.” Malfoy’s eyes widened before he quickly added, “Can I call you Harry?”
He didn’t have to think about the reply. “Of course, you can, Draco.”
When dinner time neared, Draco politely refused again Andromeda’s invite, greeting them at the doorstep, promising he’d stay next time.
Harry daydreamed about that next time, about them chatting over dinner, laughing, telling funny anecdotes with Teddy, maybe even talking more serious stuff, something about the War? How they were dealing with the aftermaths?
He was gazing absent-mindedly into the void when Andromeda playfully shook him. “You get along well, after all, Harry.” Her voice seemed to have a hopeful tone, rather than the flat one she had assumed after the Final Battle.
Harry felt his face on fire. Sighing deeply, he just smiled. “I guess we do.”
—–
The third time they met there, Harry knew it, it was planned. So, he should have been more prepared. But he wasn’t.
He and Draco still met during Hogwarts restoration, but there they were their old selves. Draco called him ‘Potter’, almost never approached him, keeping a distance, maintaining a cold stance.
That’s why he was so nervous when he arrived at Dromeda’s. Draco still hadn’t arrived, so Andromeda left the instructions about where to find food, how to change diapers, the right temperature for baby food and such, to Harry and then went out with Narcissa. They were trying to rebuild their relationship.
Harry was baking cookies with Teddy when Draco finally arrived. He showed a big grin to the two of them, covered with flour and chocolate, and joined them without a second thought.
The entire afternoon went smoothly, Draco calling him ‘Harry’, playing with Teddy, showing him magic, listening to Harry telling stories about Muggle life.
In the end, Teddy’s loving eyes convinced him to stay even for dinner.
All during their meal, they kept things light-hearted until they brought Teddy to bed. It was an incredibly intimate moment, where Harry felt all the warmth of a welcoming house, of love and caring for the little ones. Those feelings he never experienced as a child himself and would have never imagined sharing with Draco Malfoy.
When he was in his bed, Teddy yawned and looked at Draco with his eyes already half-closed, asking him to sing a lullaby. For the second time, Harry stayed mesmerized, listening to Draco, his voice reaching Harry’s soul and taking its space into his heart.
Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star,
How I wonder what you are…
And it was in that moment that Harry knew it, he knew something was growing inside himself towards Draco that he couldn’t stop anymore, like a snowball picking up more and more snow in its fall, getting inescapably bigger as it rolls down.
When Teddy was fast asleep, they moved to the living room, waiting for Andromeda to come back. They sat on the couch before the hearth, a hot chocolate in their hands and a companionable silence between them.
After a while, Draco’s head slid on Harry’s shoulder and he couldn’t be silent anymore. He needed to ask, to know… “Do you ever – Are you…”
“I am sure you can articulate something even with your little Gryffindor brain,” Draco snarled, his hot breath tickling Harry’s collarbone.
“Ah-ah. No, I mean… I wanted to ask… are we friends?” Harry’s feet became so interesting all of a sudden that he found he couldn’t tear his eyes off of them, his cheeks burning, his throat drying.
Draco snorted, and Harry almost whined at the sensation on his neck. “Well, I hope so. I know I’ve done some shit, but…”
“Why don’t you ever talk to me at Hogwarts, then?” The question was out of his mouth before he could realise it.
Draco shifted his head, curling it even more into the crook of Harry’s neck, shutting his eyes closed so much Harry felt his eyelashes brushing his skin. His lips were dangerously close to Harry’s neck and his voice came out muffled. “I thought you didn’t want people to see you are friendly with me.”
Harry sucked in a breath. This wasn’t the answer he had expected. Actually, he didn’t know what he had expected. “Fuck ‘em,” was all he said, while with a hand he started to stroke Draco’s hair gently.
—–
It could have been the tenth or eleventh time — time passed in a blur when they were together — when Harry understood he could not escape his feelings anymore.
Harry entered the house with the warm trepidation that he learned to associate with Draco by now and as soon as he stepped foot in, Teddy ran in his arms, screaming with joy. “Harry! Dray surprise!!” pointing towards his room.
With Teddy on his shoulders, he reached the room, heart thrumming with excitement. But as much as that ‘Dray surprise’ could have made Harry imagine, when he entered his jaw dropped and his breath caught. The walls were animated by magical drawings all over, fairies, dragons, stars, planets, everything a kid can dream of was there, magnificently painted in meticulous details and vibrant colours.
But the sight that really stole Harry’s breath away was Draco crouched in front of the wider wall, a brush in his hand, completely splashed with paint, a concentrated frown on his face.
His entire body was vibrating; all he wanted to do was to reach Draco and kiss away his frown, strip him of his clothes, lick away the paint on his skin. Shaking his head, Harry cleared his throat and Draco turned, his frown quickly smoothing into an open happy face. “Erm, I think I got a bit carried away.”
“I think you’ll never stop surprising me, Draco. You can paint? This is gorgeous.”
Malfoy stood up, leaving the brush on the paint bucket. “I am full of surprises, Potter. You should know that at this point.” He smiled, flushing lightly and Harry’s stomach jolted.
“I know.” He lowered Teddy on the floor who ran to the paint bucket, meddling with his hands and squealing happily.
“Dray paint!”
Draco looked at him and pulled out his tongue jokingly. Teddy blew raspberries at him and ran away, calling Andromeda to show her Draco’s work.
Moving his gaze to the walls again, Draco sighed. “You know, I’ve charmed it.”
Harry’s eyebrows knitted together. “What do you mean?”
“I mean that I drew some basic characters to adorn the walls, but the paint will change based on Teddy’s wanting and thoughts and on the stories I’ll tell him.” He smirked at Harry, looking smug. It sounded rather impressive, indeed.
“If you want, I can charm it so that it will change with your stories, too.”
“Sure, why not.” Harry looked amazed while Draco took his wand and muttered a spell he never heard before. With his wand still sparkling golden, he asked Harry, “I need you to tell anything, anything at all. It’s just to impress your voice with the magic in the paint of the walls.”
Harry felt embarrassment take over his body; he wasn’t the good one with stories, Draco always invented them and used the right words. He was clumsy and banal, but… an idea crossed his mind. He didn’t know how that would go, but it was worth a try.
“Okay… What about a story about two kids. They never got along when they were younger, on the contrary. You could define them enemies, but they had a lot in common. Born in different families with different circumstances, they quickly learned that they had a clearly defined path in front of their selves and that they couldn’t escape it.”
Harry stopped, taking a deep breath. Malfoy was looking at him with a perplexed face, but a little smile was pulling at his mouth.
“Well, they took completely different choices and they both regretted some of them. They faced evil and, in the end, they both survived. They are scarred now, they have suffered and lost loved ones… and after all this, they met again. From the ashes of their past, they met and slowly started to rebuild, to make good from it. And…”
Somewhere during Harry’s rambling, Draco must have reached him because they were now standing mere inches apart. His gaze held Harry’s. “And?”
“A-and… they… fell in love. I… think.”
Draco raised a hand and cupped the nape of Harry’s neck, lightly caressing it. He leaned his forehead on Harry’s and bumped their noses together, whispering, “They did. They did fall in love, didn’t they?”
Harry closed his eyes, caressed Draco’s hips, said, “I want to kiss you.”
“I’m not gonna stop you.”
When their lips sealed, Harry felt years of struggling, of pain, remorse, hatred, all dissipating, melting away in the heat of Draco’s mouth, in the sweetness of his tongue tracing the shape of his lips, in the kisses he peppered down his jaw, his ear.
After what felt like a lifetime, Draco bit down lightly on his earlobe, breathing, “Harry, open your eyes.”
The walls of Teddy’s room had changed to show a pile of ashes at the bottom of the wall and a giant phoenix arising from it, in a blaze of colours and sparks.
Draco started to hum close to Harry’s ear…
Wire-framed glasses and black messy hair
Big deep green eyes shine as brightly as emeralds
Lightning-bolt scar and he loves when I sing
These are a few of my favorite things…

to benzo,
ive decided to take some time out of my life to write a letter to you and for me too. Benjamin, I have been truly lucky enough to have the privilege of having you in my life for six years. I would like to take this moment in time to share with you my deepest gratitude towards you for lessons you've taught me, memories we've made together and special moments we have shared that i could never replace.
I sit here with my heart on my sleeve expressing to you my most heartfelt appreciation for our six solid years of dedication and perseverance with enduring this rollercoaster of a friendship. I am glad that we have stayed in contact with each others amongst all the other drama of our separate lives. I will forever cherish our connection for the rest of my life as it is unlike any other and I wouldn't change it for anything. These six years have been life-changing, and I mean that. I think we can both agree that these past six years have been eventful to say the least.
I was intending to only write this one single letter to you however I am now starting to realise the full extent of just how many precious moments we have shared over the years and I feel i won't be able to sum everything that I want to express up in one letter so with that being said I have decided to take my sweet time writing this letter and if I have any further thoughts id like to share with you I'll write another letter, and another and another until I have exhausted all brain motor and cognitive functions.
Anyway, I suppose I am steering off track a tad, so let me redirect your attention back to some of the good times weve shared together, particularly the first year of us dating each other and making so many unforgettable memories that I love dearly. When I reflect over all of our memories weve created over these years, it takes me back to the good times we've had, like and challenging times also, came to the beautiful realisation of how deep our love runs for one another.true depth of how far weve come from our first awkward encounter our past memories just how manycertain Heres to our many naive new beginnings and heres to our endless and countless promises of change, success and hope, of fresh starts and second chances that sadly never saw the finish line. We never stuck to our word or kept our promises to each other.
Nevertheless, from the very start, I believe 2017, you and me, we were honestly inseparable during our innocent and lust-filled honeymoon months. At the beginning of our goofy, naive and a little overly codependant relationship we shared together, you made me very happy for once in my life and I really developed a deep and intimate bond with you that I hadn't ever discovered with anyone else before in life. You were really special to me in that period of my life, you were my only real support system and best friend who I shared my deepest secrets, fears and insecurities with. You were my rock, my soul mate at that moment in my life, my bad-decision making bad influence of a boyfriend who did a lot of drugs which I wanted to partake in with him.
Even after our lowest of low moments, like our messy breakup which involved me asking your sister to pick you up because you were simply too emotional to pack your belongings or that other time when we were friends again but soon enough you practically moved right back in with me when I was living at Cornwall St. always making sure you were absolutely imposing upon my personal bubble, even when many times I asked for space which only resulted in you getting more clingy of me and deepened your attachment issues with me. It felt as if whenever I would demand space and time, you would decide to latch on even more, eventually leading me to give in and surrender to you.
The honest truth is there were difficult times with you exhausted me Ben. Both during the relationship and outside of the relo, in and out of our relationship, even when we were just friends with no strings or expectations just surrendered to your problems and gave my undivided attention to majority of the time I had to compromise my own wellbeing and personal integrity and wants and needs for myself because you were so expectant and needy of me to provide you with my undivided attention and affection when you attached to me like this, for me it was the easier path to take, even though it truly compromised my wellbeing and happiness your persuasive pleads an begs for my attention and affection many drug-filled and chaotic nights many nights, icking you out of m home, regardless if we were intimate or platonic at the time somehow lity we have someone managed to always gravitate back to each other over the endurance of six wholesome and adventurous years with you and for that I am endlessly grateful. naive feeling, overly codependant relationship with my little clingy but cute teenage stoner boyfriend who just wanted to smoke weed (4/20 blaze it) every day, talk skating with his boys and share his pure goofiness and love with those closest to him.
This letter was written for you and for me. For me because of my own self healing and to finally start my next chapter of life without you for a while (don't fret, i am to discuss this in greater detail for you further along in letter). We have to let each other respectfully go for good, for now.
I wrote this for you simply because i realised the depth of our history together and what better way to say one final farewell than to honour all those cherished memories we shared together over six intense years knowing each other. You deserve this so much and I care about you more than I truly express.
truly what a journey in life we have say shared together. Starting from our very first extremely awkward and absolutely cringeworthy 30 second encounter at one of mollies usual weekend gatherings she would throw any chance she could get, to our most recent and adventurous all night benders spent in cheap motel rooms, laying dead still in your room at your grandmas off limits house, to locking yourself inside my bathroom anxiously anticipating being busted by either my brother or my ex partner. All of the memories we have shared in between our initial meeting and most recent encounter I want to write abouts mainly for my own healing and growing but also for you, so you might just see things from my side of the fence.
Prepare yourself, as this will be one hefty and long-winded letter containing a rollercoaster of emotions and relayed past events both positive and negative, hopefully all neatly summarised into one final reflection of my feelings between us and this journey in life we've shared at the end.
So Ben, here goes nothing. I will start with when we first met at mollies place. Truthfully I couldn't keep my eyes off you, it was as if a magnet was attached to me and one to you and I was uncontrollably getting more invested and interested in finding out about you. I distinclty remember where you were sitting as I became more curious about you, next to Tobias on the couch beside the wall. I think you stayed sat there for the majority of the night, but nevertheless my eyes kept wandering back to you. I took some mdma caps that night and stupidly and spontaneously decided to go for a long ass nighttime bush walk with some guys from your high school (if I recall correctly it was ethan jensen and tom merrigan) through mollies creepy dark bush creek park she lives next to. Now that I think about it, I don't even think they were eager to come with me but they didn't want me going through that dangerous bushland area alone, especially in my state.
At that point during the night, to say I was way out of my mind would have been an absolute understatement as these narcotics were working in overdrive now, taking over my mind, body and any common sense i may have employed sober. Since this was still one of the first experiences I had with taking mdma, the experience was super intense and half of the night I felt as if I wasn't actually conscious or if I was conscious I had replaced old rubi with an upgraded, much more brave rubi that was suddenly in the mood to go walking straight into a potentially dangerous bushland area where hobos have squatted in before, did I mention at night, pitch black in there, with no street lighting except our eye vision. It was as if I did not care for danger or threats because I felt so high up on this cloud of euphoria that no one could touch me and I was totally protected from harm. Yes, my sober brain dies have more common sense and logic than that, however that one single feeling of pure euphoria pulsating through me was enough for me to want more of it, and more and so on and so forth.
And that is when i gained the confidence to start a conversation with you, or rather attempt to put a sentence together without looking proper munted from the drugs. I think we did speak briefly by the pool area and I recall you mentioning that you were in a relo with a chick named Emily. I didn't care about anything you were saying, I was so fucking ecstatic that somehow we ended up chatting to each other, even if it wasn't for long. I made a mental note of you in my head. I wanted to know you before I really had an idea of you. To sum up this first story, so now you know what my initial (& may I politely add extremely intoxicating) encounter with you from my perspective was like and my first impression of you: for me it was always from that very first glance of you that I became intrigued and I couldn't shake it one bit, even when you mentioned your relationship status with your cool girlfriend at the time. I wasn't listening, you were talking to a brick wall disguised as a pretty girl. I just remember how badly I wanted to know more of you, and I just had a gut feeling we would see each other again soon.
P.s. originally I was going to write one big letter to you and I yet I've realised just how many memories we've shared that I must write about. So instead I have decided to write each letter as a past memory or reflection of our experiences we've shared together over this six year rollercoaster.
First letter is completed, see you soon my friend.
P.p.s. OKAY YES, I can be super annoying (thoughtful, caring, kind, mindful, loving) and know JUST how much you truly cherish and adore (hate, despise, resent) my little life pep talks and lectures so benzo, especially for you I've decided to leave you some of my personal and unique little words of advice and wisdom rants just for you cos YOU DESERVE TO HEAR THEM SO READ THEM FOR ME FOR ONCE IN YOUR MEDIOCRE LIFE AND LET THEM SINK INTO YOUR BRAIN FOR GOODNESS SAKE YOU WONDERFUL BUT SOMETIMES LOST HUMAN BEING who deserves someone who will write personalised care letters because they are valuable and worthy and deserve love and lots of it.

Word of advice #1:
Please take care of yourself, if not for yourself just do it for your little sister, she needs you more than you know. Feed yourself that second plate of homemade spaghetti bolognaise which YOU cooked with extra cheese and pasta, go mental person crazy in the shower, sing as loud as your lungs will fully permit you and sing those sad fucking sappy love songs you hate to love because they make you feel something instead of being aimlessly numb all day. AND FUCK, JUST do it, go ahead and get that girly lavender soap for your grandma because she let's you live in her temple and she means more than words could describe to you, write her a little letter too, go on and show your grandma some emotion for once, she worries about you and wants to see you prosper before she leaves you on Earth. Write about how lost in life you feel, or ask how lost in life she feels, maybe she's hurting too.
If nothing else, try remember that in life, we have one giant society consumed with human beings that can be very harsh and cruel and judgemental of your every GODDAM action.
In this clusterfuck of what society has labelled a life", we have constructed some outrageous and unrealistic expectations and laws and rules and ongoing policies and guidelines for our fellow law-abiding aife experiences, I have endured the worst kinds of days that stretch on and on, these days feelyo7u like you aren't contributing to society's overall desire for successful people and you keep missing the mark and when does it ever get easier for you, the past few years have just felt like one big snakes and ladders board game where you're piece is broken and won't stop descending down the snake, slowly slipping into the dark abyss of your april fools joke of a life (i say april fools because ive legit had some of the most soul-cursing life experiences that've got me full depressed to the point where it had a comedic level of patheticness may have this mindset at times, or not, that's ok. I frequently do. I do know when this dark never-ending tunnel or abyss or however you personally envision the dark periods in your life, has got me trapped so bad I may as well be submerged in sinking mud on a deserted island called 'No Hope Island a large can be hard to climb out of the sinking mud of your patheticness cietysh because it feels good, wash because people are cruel and you've been corrupted with their silly bullshit and you don't need their scent on your skin anymore, scrub your body until you can longer scrub, scrub your skin and don't stop until it is raw, red and numb. Don't call your that mate of yours today, hes doing hard drugs, he can't think straight therefore doesnt care for you as a genuine mate would and wants to see you in pain just as much as he is because in reality, it makes him feel slightly better about his pathetic situation because he has someone on the same level so now he feels less disgusted of who he has become. Tell me, is that a friend to you? A good friend who gets literal twisted pleasure and comfort out of watching you stick a needle in your arm and sell your soul to the devil. That same sinister devil who awaits you always so very eagerly every high you take. That devil demon who is always patiently waiting for you at the finish line of your come up. This monster you have let in, he has made himself a home in yours, he lays right beside you, breathing in your air and covering the room with dark shadows so you aren't reminded of how peaceful the daytime light looks in your bedroom. Yes, I assure you, as I have met him before in my sleep. He has told me that sometimes he watches over me in the darkest corner of my ceiling while I sleep, waiting for my fears and anxiety to emerge in my sleep. He is my sleep paralysis monster. He follows me everywhere I go now, i have no privacy from him. He is always there, watching and waiting for weakness. When I am weak and vulberable once I have had my dose of drugs, he likes to play a game called hide and seek. He hides and I seek. Sometimes I hide and he seeks. He hides himself deep within me, the way he enters into me is through my auraus just after I have taken narcotics and opened my auraus right up, when one is the most vulnerable to evilness of spirits. When I am anxious, he makes me go seek. I never want to seek inside but I am not to disobey his orders for that is when he will truly punish me with the insidious sleep paralysis, sleep deprivation, shadow people watching as an audience, inner demons invited on stage to surround you, the sickest feeling of fear and paranoia washing over your soul like sticky slime you can't remove off your skin no matter how many scratches you've inflicted upon your skin. Because of that one night with that one friendeedle,
Laying right beside you ou in your bed, as an unwanted shadow, n anticipation, the devil when your come down is creeping over you with a sheepish grin upon his face. has begun andat the end of your reality has set back in and the come down is creeping up on you of your high for you. Go ahead, if that's the life you want, nants you to go down like him, and that is just not part of hesgo to bed early, read that self-help book, try, just try to listen to your parents (even if they suck major sweaty hairy balls right know and are in the typical parent stage of not being completely and pathetically oblivious to you as a evolving adolescent boy that needs help and support and guidance from his parents because he feels sort of invisible and worthless in life right now and has been questioning for some time now his place in this world and what he means to anyone that cares for him and if his worthiness is even worth anything now or is he just too far gone to make it or start over fresh.
